Artist Statement
ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
Inspiration for my paintings comes from both internal and external sources. Scenes from the Delaware Valley and the coast of Maine form the basis for much of my art. My starting point in painting is representational, however, from there my attention turns to playing with the colors, shapes, space and mood. Internal imaging and abstraction are critical factors which give the paintings a uniquely personal meaning. In the end though, the scene is a recognizable memory.
I have always thought that there is joyous magic in creating art and consider myself blessed to wake each day knowing that I will be able to paint.
